The historic connection to the university community and
our commitment to minister to this context have been
significant factors in the development of the library
system of University Baptist Church. More than 1500
square feet of the educational building has been
dedicated to house the program, and with an LSU
Professor of Library Information Science as our
director, the collection is current and vast in scope.
Special features of the system include
The James A. Smith, Jr. Memorial Tots to to Teens
Collection
- Several hundred volumes of the world's most popular
literature for children
Resources for Bible Study and Personal Discipleship
- A diverse collection of individual books and sets
of commentaries, including The Interpreter's Bible,
The Broadman Bible Commentary, William Barclay's Daily
Study Bible, and many more.
Video Tape Collection
- Resources for a variety of interests, including
children's videos, animated features on Old and New
Testament stories, family life needs, and personal
growth helps.
The UBC library has been recognized by LSU as a viable
system so that graduate students in LIS have been able
to complete some of their requirements for graduation by
working in the collection. We are grateful to have this
marvelous resource as a part of our total program to
"equip the saints for the work of ministry." |
