University Baptist - Worship

Traditional Service
  Sunday mornings at 9:15 am
"Traditional"
service marked by hymnody and sanctuary choir with monthly celebration of the Lord' s Supper and weekly proclamation from scripture.

Emerging Service
  Sunday mornings at 11:15 am
"Emerging"
service comprised of songs and hymns set to guitar; marked by a more casual setting but a serious regard for scripture and worshipers' participation in regular observance of Lord's Supper and times of contemplation and celebration.

Emerging Worship -   The ancient/future practice of  worshiping God Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer. By this expression of worship, we seek to glorify God in Christ Jesus through an experience that is:

    -

Authentic - the understanding that God gives us diverse talents to be used for God's glory.
-
Biblical - the promise that the authority for our life is told in the story of God and God's people.
-

Missional - the effort to engage the culture around us in pursuit of justice and mercy for all God's creation.
-

Multi-sensory - the full bodied expression of joy and sorrow, confession of sin, and confession of faith to taste and see that the Lord is good, to listen to God's voice, and to feel the Holy Spirit in our midst.
-

Participatory - the shared practice of liturgy: the communal work of serving the Lord and serving each other.

Evensong

Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm
"
Evensong" is our regularly scheduled time of Sunday evening worship. Beginning at 5pm, we meet in the Chapel of our church to sing hymns, to pray, to read scripture, and to preach God's word. Evensong coincides with Lagniappe on Sunday nights.

Kairos

Sunday evenings at 5:00 pm
"Kairos" is our youth worship service.  The word Kairos describes when God breaks into our chaotic life for His purposes.  Through hanging out, eating pizza, playing games, singing, and Bible study, we hope that God touches your life.

Church of the Nations

Sunday mornings at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel
We use simple English and try to be sensitive to the background and needs both of those who are learning about the Christian faith for the first time and of those who have been faithful members of the Christian church for all or most of their lives. We celebrate Communion (Lord's Supper) the last Sunday of each month.
