Affiliations
As a Baptist Church, we affirm the historic Baptist principle of church autonomy. Our congregation is self-governed, following the guidance of God in all of our affairs rather than the governance of a national or global denomination. God’s Spirit works and moves within and among each of us, leading the congregation to acts of worship and service within the community.
This self-governance gives us the freedom to affiliate with others - denominational networks, other congregations and mission partners - as we seek to build and grow God’s kingdom.
UBC proudly supports and partners with the following denominational groups and mission partners:
The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), "a network of churches, individuals and partners inviting each other into deeper community, equipping each other for ministry and seeking the transformation of God’s world."
Great Rivers Fellowship, a regional group of CBF-affiliated churches in Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi.
The Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge, of which UBC is a charter member.
