We are very grateful for your interest in University Baptist Church’s Early Learning Center program! There are still a few spots available for the fall semester.

  • Please fill out the digital application form and the director will respond to let you know if a spot is currently available for your child.

  • A non- refundable Registration Fee of $250 ($225 for second child) must accompany this application. However, your check will not be cashed until we are certain that a space is available.

  • You can mail the registration check (check addressed to University Baptist Church, envelope addressed to University Baptist Early Learning Center and including the child's name) or drop it off during ELC hours.

  • Your application is complete when both the form and check have been received.

We are dedicated to maintaining small student/teacher ratios in order to provide the best possible care and learning for your children. Contact ELC director @ elc@ubc-br.org.

Mission Statement

University Baptist Church Early Learning Center seeks to glorify God by offering the highest quality of care possible to children and to provide a safe, loving Christ-centered environment where children can grow and learn with joy.

Purpose and Philosophy

We believe that each child is a unique gift of God, and we seek to help each child to fulfill his or her physical, mental, social, emotional, and spiritual potential. We achieve this by providing children with opportunities to create, to explore the environment, to solve problems, to learn concepts through hands-on experiences and to develop personal interaction skills, all through a carefully planned balance of self- and teacher- directed activities. Adults serve as positive role models and provide care that is supportive, nurturing, warm, and responsive to each child’s needs.

CURRICULUM

Our program utilizes the All Ready Curriculum by Mary Ann Girard. This curriculum provides a comprehensive, theme-based , weekly lesson plan for toddler, two, three, and four-year-old classrooms. The age-appropriate activities reflect current best practices in early childhood education. It is child-friendly and provides a variety of activities that encourage children to learn through discovery and hands-on experiences.

Teacher-directed instruction is combined with child-centered exploration in learning centers such as:

Art/Music...expressing ideas and feelings, experimenting with materials

Homeliving/Dramatic Play...practicing being part of a family and a community, imagining

Library...exploring books and language, developing a love of reading

Blocks/Construction...gaining a practical, working knowledge of mathematical concepts (size, shape, balance, area, classification, seriation, patterning, counting, measuring, estimating) and working cooperatively

Writing...experimenting with writing implements, developing fine motor skills, communicating through drawing and printing

Manipulatives/Puzzles...developing abilities to think creatively and solve problems, eye-hand coordination

Sensory/Science...using our five senses to make connections between the world in which we live and the God who made it
