Raised in Apex, NC, I attended Campbell University for undergraduate and Divinity School. At Campbell, I met my wife, Jennifer. We have two daughters, Madison and Aubrey-Anna.
Serving in a plethora of ministry capacities, from overseas mission work to urban ministries, my heart is to coach people to expand their availability to serve the Lord with their passions and giftedness. I believe in creating a community of belonging for all people, no matter where they are on life's journey. I have a heart for discipleship and seeing followers of Jesus grow in their journey with Him. My desire is to help equip, edify, and empower God's people to live and do the work of the Kingdom of God.
Before my call to UBC, I served as a CBF church starter of Mosaic Church of Clayton, North Carolina and coordinated the Church Starts Initiative for CBF Global.
I am also the creator and host of the CBF Conversations Podcast.
Minister to Children and Young Families
Raised in Atlanta, Georgia, I attended the University of Montana gaining a degree in Recreation Program Management. Met my husband Will in 2010. We have 2 children, Thomas and Katherine (Kate)
I have served as Children's Coordinator at UBC since 2012 with a focus on building a strong community in Christ for our young Families, and developing programs that teach our youngest members to be the Church through child friendly missions. I believe strongly that the greatest of God's Gifts is love and when in doubt if we fall towards love and kindness we will be living in the spirit of Jesus Christ.
Minister of Community & Church of the Nations
I am so excited to be a part of the UBC community and to help the church fulfill her calling here in Baton Rouge! I was born and raised in Richmond, VA, attended Virginia Tech for undergrad, and the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond for my Master of Divinity degree.
My experiences in ministry are varied, having spent time in associate ministry, youth and children’s ministry, college ministry, hospital chaplaincy, church planting, and ministry for a season in a national park. I’m excited to work with all generations of Americans and Internationals at UBC to provide opportunities for connection and growth with one another. I think the local church is at its best when those we encounter feel loved and accepted as beloved children of God created in God’s image, so that they might in turn be that same loving presence to the world around them.
In my spare time, you’ll find me playing guitar, reading science fiction, exercising, or trying my best to catch a bass at a local BREC park.
I am thrilled to be a part of the UBC community where I believe that musical diversity and vitality can play an important role in our lives together. My own musical background includes amateur and professional choral music, solo vocal performance, church music ministry, college a cappella, rock, folk, and praise bands, and musical theatre performance, conducting, and direction. These varied experiences lead me to embrace a wide range of musical styles in ministry.
I am currently finishing doctoral studies in choral conducting at LSU. Prior to my arrival in Baton Rouge, I received a master’s degree in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. I am originally from Austin, Texas.

Mother's Day Out Director
I was born in Hong Kong, but have been in Baton Rouge for many years. I graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. My husband, Simon, and I have three grown children, Timothy, Christopher, and Kimberly who all grew up here at University Baptist Church. I was the interim director of the Child Development Center in 2000 for a few years, then worked in the “Business World.” In 2015, I became a classroom teacher and now I am the Director of the Mother’s Day Out program. Creating a safe, fun, caring, and Christian environment for children is our main objective. Our staff have accomplished that goal and continue to do it daily.
I was born in South Korea, moved to Uganda, Africa when my parents were called to serve as missionaries. I cam to Baton Rouge to pursue B.A. Political Science program at LSU, where I met my husband, Danial. We are happily married with two beautiful daughters Lia and Emma. I volunteered for Food for Hungry International and Compassion International along with various missions, fully taking advantage of growing up in mission field. I taught English in Korea for a year after graduating college and decided to come back to Baton Rouge. I love being part of UBC ministry, and I am excited to see where God will take me next!
