Raised in Apex, NC, I attended Campbell University for undergraduate and Divinity School. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Leadership (EdD). At Campbell, I met my wife, Jennifer. We have two daughters, Madison and Aubrey-Anna.
Serving in a plethora of ministry capacities, from overseas mission work to urban ministries, my heart is to coach people to expand their availability to serve the Lord with their passions and giftedness. I believe in creating a community of belonging for all people, no matter where they are on life's journey. I have a heart for discipleship and seeing followers of Jesus grow in their journey with Him. My desire is to help equip, edify, and empower God's people to live and do the work of the Kingdom of God.
Before my call to UBC, I served as a CBF church starter of Mosaic Church of Clayton, North Carolina and coordinated the Church Starts Initiative for CBF Global.
I am also the creator and host of the CBF Conversations Podcast.
Minister of Children and Retirees
I was raised in the suburbs of Louisville, Kentucky, and received a degree in Church Music from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. I also received a Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. My husband Jon and I have been married since 2000 and have two children, Abigail and Kaitlyn.
I have previously been a youth minister, preschool classroom teacher, preschool music teacher with the Kindermusik program, taught High School chorus, and most recently served as a Field Personnel in Kosice, Slovakia with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. I believe that God has called each of us to missional living no matter what our profession. I love to help people find their God-given gifts and use them to serve in the church and beyond. I want all people to feel loved and accepted as part of God’s family.
I enjoy being outdoors (exercising, hiking, running, walking, etc.), reading, and spending time with my family. We love to travel to new places!
I walk alongside children and their families as well as retirees as we learn to love and understand each other more fully, creating an environment where all are welcome to serve and thrive.
Minister of Formation & Church of the Nations
I am so excited to be a part of the UBC community and to help the church fulfill her calling here in Baton Rouge! I was born and raised in Richmond, VA, attended Virginia Tech for undergrad, and the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond for my Master of Divinity degree.
My experiences in ministry are varied, having spent time in associate ministry, youth and children’s ministry, college ministry, hospital chaplaincy, church planting, and ministry for a season in a national park. I’m excited to work with all generations of Americans and Internationals at UBC to provide opportunities for connection and growth with one another. I think the local church is at its best when those we encounter feel loved and accepted as beloved children of God created in God’s image, so that they might in turn be that same loving presence to the world around them.
In my spare time, you’ll find me playing guitar, reading science fiction, exercising, or trying my best to catch a bass at a local BREC park.
I work on developing community among youth, college, and young adults, as well as leading to UBC's international ministries.
Minister of Worship & Community
I am thrilled to be a part of the UBC community where I believe that musical diversity and vitality can play an important role in our lives together. My own musical background includes amateur and professional choral music, solo vocal performance, church music ministry, college a cappella, rock, folk, and praise bands, and musical theatre performance, conducting, and direction. These varied experiences lead me to embrace a wide range of musical styles in ministry.
I am currently finishing doctoral studies in choral conducting at LSU. Prior to my arrival in Baton Rouge, I received a master’s degree in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. I earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. I am originally from Austin, Texas.
I work on developing spiritual formation among youth, college, and young adults, as well as leading UBC's worship ministries.

Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, I currently attend Louisiana State University, pursuing a degree in Marketing. Since I was 13, I've wanted a career in Marketing, whether it be becoming a sports agent, music manager, or just a graphic designer. I love sports, specifically basketball, and was a huge Kobe Bryant fan growing up. I look forward to using what I've learned to stretch UBC's outreach beyond measures.
Hi, my name is Elizabeth! Originally from Hoover, AL, I came to Baton Rouge to study at LSU, where I'm currently finishing my dual degree in Mass Communication and Business Administration. You may have seen me around UBC working in Mothers Day Out. I'm excited to continue to grow and learn in such a wonderful work environment.
