To Highland With Love
The "To Highland With Love" Ministry began in the fall of 1998 to minister to the students, faculty and staff of Highland Elementary School located only a few blocks from University Baptist Church.
Reading Friends
Reading Friends is a loved and valued part of the “To Highland with Love” ministry. Volunteers from UBC and the community work one-on-one with a child, reading and being a friend. Children, school volunteers and community all benefit – and it’s fun!
As a reading friend you will:

Work one-on-one with a student in grades Pre-K to 2nd grade

30-45 minutes per week

Work on reading skills and develop a friendship with your student

Have FUN and be a friend

Attend a one hour training session and complete a background check
We believe in the children of Highland. We believe their futures are bright, and we believe we can help them succeed. Make a difference and brighten a child’s life by being a Reading Friend.
