This year we hope you will volunteer to be a part of UBC’s “To Highland With Love” ministry by being a Reading Friend. The children of Highland adore their Reading Friends, and it is a meaningful and fun experience!
The concept is simple, the commitment small, and the impact is huge.
1) A volunteer commits to work with one child for the school year.
2) The commitment is 30 minutes at least two times a month; once a week is ideal.
3) During these 30 minutes you may read to your assigned student, have him or her read to you, and be a friend who can show care and concern to that child.
4) Complete a background screening at the cost of $11 and attend a training.
