We hope that you will see that we are a caring community which is serious about worship, discipleship training, missions and service. More importantly, we hope you will come by for a visit and get to know us. You are always welcome at UBC. ... Allen Jackson, Interim Pastor.

UBC seeks to be an extended Christian family, and is always open to visitors. Come worship with us.
Book Review
Our friend and neighbor (at St. James Place), Dr. Malcolm Tolbert has written a captivating collection of essays on Jesus' birth, temptation, teachings, anguish at Gethsemane, and his crucifixion. These insightful essays deal with issues we all face in life, sin, love, wealth, discipleship, perfection, family, loneliness, and faith. A graduate of LA College and teacher at NOBTS for fifteen years, Dr. Tolbert is no stranger to UBC, having spoken in our church many times over the years. Some may not know that he was in the Army Air Corps during WWII and served as a missionary in Brazil for almost 10 years. These essays are a refreshing look at Jesus' life through the eyes of someone whom we have come to love and respect.
Spotlight
Meet David and Allison Six who joined our UBC family in September 2008.
David and I were first attracted to University Baptist Church because of its position in the community as a socially just, progressive church with sound theological roots. Having just graduated from Rhodes College and moved back to Baton Rouge to begin careers, we found that UBC satisfied our desire to worship in a place that met the Bible intellectually, met people compassionately, and met God with glory and reverence. We love that UBC’s presence in Baton Rouge spans neighbors, languages, generations, and races. We are now expecting our first baby in October and are delighted that our son will spend his first years among such a community of diverse and faithful Christians.
