The Pane: Introducing Anastasia Azore

In the coming weeks, we're giving you a chance to get to know some of the newest additions to the UBC staff.

Anastasia Azore is a junior at LSU studying History with a concentration in secondary education and a minor in African American studies. She’s invested in LSU Impact, working with helping black students on campus integrate their faith into every aspect of their lives. Anastasia has been working for a while with us as a preschool teacher during Sunday School and worship, and is now joining us as the Intern for Children and Retirees. She’s bright and driven, and is a joy to know and work with!

How do you see your role here at UBC?

Initially, I saw myself as an extra pair of helping hands, but after connecting with UBC members I now see myself as part of a community working to create a heaven on earth. Therefore, with each task, I strive to be a living extension of God’s love to all those around me.

What’s your favorite thing to do in your free time?

One of my favorite things to do in my spare time is to workout. I enjoy learning new forms of fitness and expanding my physical strength. Fitness also acts as a mental outlet for me and helps instill consistency and resilience in my everyday life.

What’s your favorite place in Baton Rouge?

My favorite part of Baton Rouge by far is the City park. It’s a great spot for an early morning stroll, picnic with the friends, and a peaceful place to getaway.

What’s a book you’d recommend to almost anybody, and why?

I highly recommend Michelle Obama’s book Becoming as it frames life as a continuation of growth rather than a final destination. With this mindset, any reader can gain a deeper insight into who they are and grow closer into who God created them to be.
